The 2017 opening of The Wing in New York’s Soho neighborhood radically reinterpreted the coworking environment as an inclusive, collaborative space for female-identifying people. Responding to The Wing’s fifth-floor location in a classic Soho loft, ALA conserved original building elements that best conveyed the historic setting, and then dovetailed them to an enfilade of communal and enclosed zones suited for focused work and interaction. In 2019, The Wing expanded to the 4th floor, doubling the co-working space to 20,000 square feet to fulfill surging membership demand. With that full-floor expansion, it also launched the first Little Wing children’s area.
