The flat is situated in a newly built residence and the young couple who own it wanted to give some character to their new home. The theme of the home is ‘contrast’: contrast that evokes emotions while maintaining the clean-cut line that the flat needed: this was the basic concept that inspired the design. To obtain the desired ambience we combined the warmth of the wooden floor with the coolness of the concrete ceiling, the wood in the linear elements of the furniture with some glossy lacquered finishes , and for the lighting we combined fitted lights with some cosy intimate corners offering a mood for reflection In terms of spacial concept, there are three elements in the living area: a floor- to -ceiling cabinet that separates the more private areas from the rest of the house, a bench– the quintessence of conviviality – which runs the whole length of the wall and can serve both for seating or as a usable surface and a service corner which separates the kitchen from the sofa area.

L’appartamento oggetto di questo lavoro è situato in un edificio di nuova edificazione: i proprietari, una giovane coppia, desideravano caratterizzare la loro nuova casa. Contrasto come generatore di sensazioni pur nel mantenimento di quella linea pulita di cui l'ambiente aveva bisogno: questa l'idea di fondo che sta alla base del progetto. Per raggiungere l'atmosfera desiderata si è dunque lavorato accostando il calore del pavimento in legno al freddo del soffitto in cls a vista; il legno per gli elementi lineari degli arredi alle finiture laccate di alcune loro parti; l'illuminazione con faretti a binario a angoli con atmosfere più meditative. Dal punto di vista spaziale tre sono gli elementi che organizzano la zona living: un armadio a tutta altezza che separa gli ambienti più privati della casa; una panca lunga tutta la parete, elemento conviviale per antonomasia, che è sia seduta sia piano di appoggio; un'isola di servizio che divide la zona cottura dall’area divano.
