The extension district Blitsaerd is situated on the north side of the city Leeuwarden. The centre city of this plan consists of a circular port with luxurious houses along the quay. The port with the 70 houses give in this way shape to the entrance of the district. To mark the circle, on both the beginning and the ending an apartment complex of 8 levels is placed.
Cars can be parked underneath an elevated deck in front of the houses. The houses have their own individual character by using different materials and sections. There are two standard houses: one with a space of 1,5 floor on the waterside, and one with a space of 1,5 floor on the garden side. The façades cladding is changing by house: there are three types of glossy bricklaying, zinc and copper. The colours are changing slightly from bright to dark.
