The designers who worked on the interiors of this 1870stownhousein Brooklyn had a difficult task: to restore the original elements of the old home while giving it a modern feel. Despite the home’s rich history, previous owners hid much of the late 19th century details. A team of designers and builders restored the old hearth in the kitchen, dismantled and rebuilt both staircases, and refurbished the fireplaces. In the kitchen and living room, a great combination of aqua and different shades of wood was used, while brass elements helped to set the necessary accents and added sophistication. The designers themselves describe it as a French eclecticism with aristocratic touches.
