The Proper Hotel, a boutique Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, is Kelly Wearstler's latest project. The Proper Hotel occupies a place in the deco Broadway neighborhood, where the elaborate marble carvings of the entrance arch suggest classical grandeur of the lintels. The corridor activity tropical plant sequence, exuberant vitality line up, warmly welcome each guest's visit.

这座加州文艺复兴时期的地标建筑，在1920年代是最时髦的私人俱乐部，如今凭借Kelly Wearstler合理的设计，变身成拥有148间华丽客房的酒店，在改造的过程之中，保留了建筑原有的形体结构和古老肌理，这也是在向当时的建筑师Curlett & Beelman致敬。

This California Renaissance landmark, which was the hippest private club in the 1920s, has been transformed into a 148-room hotel with Kelly Wearstler's sound design that preserves the original structure and texture of the building. It is also a tribute to Curlett & Beelman, the architects of the time.

酒店室内融合了传统的工艺手法，展现了超过上百种不同精心手绘设计的瓷砖，和以西班牙、葡萄牙、墨西哥和摩洛哥为设计背景的复古家具与地毯，以及由工作室The Judson Studios和陶艺家Morgan Peck设计的壁画和彩绘玻璃。在这里，除了驻足凝视品类丰富的艺术作品，客人还可以在古老的篮球场一展球技，或者在室内游泳池悠哉游哉，同时欣赏当地艺术家Ben Medansky的陶瓷壁画。

The interiors incorporate traditional craftsmanship, featuring over hundreds of different hand-painted tiles, vintage furniture and carpets with Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican and Moroccan backgrounds, as well as murals and stained glass designed by The Judson Studios and potter Morgan Peck. In addition to gazing at a wide variety of works of art, guests can play on the ancient basketball court or relax in the indoor swimming pool while admiring the ceramic murals by local artist Ben Medansky.
