Buzzi & Buzzi, a leading company in the lighting industry based in Lombardy, took part in the new project for the IL FOYER - Alla Scala restaurant, designed by Michael Vincent Uy, an architect with important experience in the luxury sector focused mainly on Milan. The refined restaurant, inspired by private salons of the Theatre and by private Milanese villas, is lit up with lighting solutions designed by Buzzi & Buzzi: products already known to the public of the sector as the perfect and indispensable blend of design and efficiency that shapes light according to design needs. 

Il Foyer is the perfect continuation of the experience of the Theatre in every way: open from morning to late at night, from morning coffee to after-show cocktails, it was designed and realised based on the architect’s idea to recreate the theatre’s spaces. Similarly, IL FOYER expresses specific needs in terms of lighting. Thanks to its significant know-how and an original proposal that combines design and performance, Buzzi & Buzzi chooses the products of the Recessed collection, recessed luminaires characterized by an excellent ability to integrate perfectly with the surfaces and textures of the location, such as marble, velvet, mirrors and metals. In this way, it’s possible to achieve extraordinary effects of total disappearance that create optical illusions, given also by mirrors. 

Therefore, in the restaurant’s interior, characterized by two main colours - gold and red -, we find Genius, an indoor totally disappearing luminaire made in AirCoral®, an exclusive material patented by the brand known for its eco-active, anti-polluting, anti-bacterial and photocatalytic capabilities, that helps to considerably improve the quality of life of the people enjoying the spaces. 

Also, Genius Naked, the evolution of the Genius family, further extends the concept of surface integration, adapting to any type of material and context. Also totally disappearing, this one can be installed on any surface including wood, cement, mirror, marble, industrial modules with a thickness from 5 mm to a maximum of 20 mm.

All the Genius luminaires are able to generate an incredible brightness with an only 20 mm emission hole, invisible when turned off. Genius family products represent the allure of the interior lighting that paints lighting paths that charm the visitor, giving visual comfort. 

We can also find Rhino, a small indoor luminaire made with another exclusive material of the brand, Coral®, composed of natural minerals and made extremely resistant to high temperatures and thermal shock by aggregating elements. 

Rhino, present at the Foyer in white and black finishes, stands out for being both versatile and functional, projecting the light in a determining way and creating different plays of light. With the possibility of being adjusted up to 360° on the horizontal line and 90° on the vertical one or recessed, disappearing in order to generate minimal visual impact. So, this is another small protagonist of the complex play of luminous accents that characterize the interiors of IL FOYER.
