OFFCON implemented a thoughtful design for Swiss watch manufacturer, TAG Heuer’s new offices located in Moscow, Russia.
TAG Heuer, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, turned to OFFCON when they decided to move to a new office. The new space is located on the site of the business center “Bol’shevik”, former confectionery factory of Soviet era. The decision to move was due to new business processes implemented in the company.
The goal of the design was to express the solidity and innovativeness of the 150 years old brand. The 218 sq. meter office was designed with both communicational and visual comfort in mind. There is a block fully covered in black glass in the middle of the office. It contains mostly support spaces such as storage, wardrobe, server room and reception with a waiting area. There is also an alcove for meetings with experts, who would come from all over Russia to exchange knowledge and experience.
Closed offices and other public areas are placed along the perimeter. Most of them are separated with glass partitions in between, which makes these rooms feel more spacious. However, this requires special acoustic considerations, which is met by using Ecophon acoustic panels on the ceiling and Interface carpet on the floor. The selected collection – Net Effect, is made from recycled nets obtained from the Pacific Ocean. This gorgeous blue carpet and grey stone tile on the floor pair extremely well with glossy black and wooden vertical surfaces. Petr Kholkovskiy, OFFCON chief architect and co-founder, also decided to keep the existing brick cladding to preserve the feel of an old factory building. In each room, there are portraits of celebrities that were the brand faces throughout the existence of the company. Among them are Brad Pitt, Ayrton Senna, Cara Delevingne, Muhammad Ali, and Steve McQueen.
Different types of lighting fixtures were used: track lights, recessed downlights and linear lights on both ceiling and walls. A track with different types of fixtures was placed along the perimeter of the central block. This system provides both accent and general lighting.
