NORR was engaged by Thomas Jefferson University to consolidate and expand their College of Nursing program into a single, new facility in Horsham, Pennsylvania.
Nurses are rushing to the front lines in today’s fight to keep the public safe and healthy. The new 44,000 sf facility has significantly increased education and simulation spaces, grown student enrollment, and increased faculty teaching positions.
The new facility (owned and operated by Workspace Property Trust) is divided into three distinct action districts: Focus, Learn and Apply. The districts are directly related to the primary academic function centered therein; faculty spaces, lecture spaces, and simulation labs respectively. The districts are interconnected by a student-centered concourse filled with break-out, collaboration and meeting spaces. The concourse provides students with casual, learning outside of the classroom opportunities.
The new state-of-the-art simulation center includes two dedicated clinical simulation labs, a home health care suite, and individual patient focused exam room spaces. Debrief rooms and meeting spaces provide ample opportunity for student to review their simulation sessions and receive immediate feedback. The entre facility is dedicated to exploring the most recent technological advances in nursing education, medical record keeping, and realistic patient simulation.
