This new concept from the guys behind Húrra Reykjavík and Flatey Pizza draws it’s inspiration from Nordic and Japanese aesthetics in a modern way. The signature dish on the menu is the YUZU burger that comes with steam baked bun, other courses are Japanese inspired where the YUZU fruit plays a big role. The overall goal for HAF STUDIO was to create a relaxed and effortless place that mixes nordic and Japanese aesthetics. The lounge is a spacious area to wait for a table and enjoy a drink in couches from Swedish brand HEM accompanied by eye-catching bright bold chair from the French Moustache. The designers chose industrial lights from the French Sammode lighting along with other yellow neon lights. The rough concrete makes a great harmony with finely crafted Dinesen Douglas fir planks and brown leather benches. Though the structure of the space is rough and industrial the overall feel is warm and inviting in this fresh new restaurant that plays rap music only. For the Restaurant HAF STUDIO designed a new chair locally produced labelled the “New School” this chair takes references from the chairs Icelandic generation sat on through primary school.
