With the mission of innovating and passing on Fujian cuisine, Meet the Bund meets Shanghai once again. The iconic nature of Xintiandi has naturally reminded us of a creative process to explore Fujian’s culture and architectural elements.
我们更多的是去尽量
克制太多的因福建
元素去违和了新
天地的建筑风貌。
We have naturally tried not to overpower Xintiandi’s architectural style with too many Fujian elements.

要去在意内在空间
与这座城市的呼
应。以及美食体验
与个体情絮的精神通道。
Given Xintiandi’s specialgeographical location and its emotional bond
with Shanghai, we wanted the restaurant’s internal space to echo the city when we designed it while also foregrounding the spiritual connection between sampling delicacies and individual emotions.
福建闽南象征的
红砖古厝，成为修饰
空间界面的文化载体，
南洋冒险时交换回流的
西洋家具，也正好和
上海海派建筑有着
一见如故的融合。
The red-bricked traditional private residences that are synonymous with southern Fujian in China have become the cultural vessel that decorates the spatial interface.Meanwhile, Western furniture that recalls adventures around Southeast Asia integrates beautifully with the Shanghai-style architecture.

现代主义思潮影响了
我们对整个室内空间体

Modernism has also affected how we designed the internal space and its layout, with the stairs and the ceiling of private dining rooms being turned into installation art.
色彩、材质所划分的
层次,也划分了每一
道菜式的层次感。
The layers created by colours and materials also reflect the layers of each dish.

石柱的手工技艺痕迹被
放大到空间的各个立
体形态上,通过对砖
红色的肌理研究,被设计
进整个元素里,形成一
套完整符号语言。
The manual artistry of the stone columns is elaborated and applied to solid forms. Through studying the texture of brick red, the colour has been incorporated into the overall elements to form a comprehensive system of symbols and linguistic expressions.
在这套体系下,将材料
最初特质以直接而质朴的
呈现出来。中古和现代
的家具搭配下,以及一
些俱乐部似的独特酒
柜,烘托出高级又
独特的魅力。
The system brings out the original characteristics of materials in a direct and simple manner. Complemented by both vintage and modern furniture and some unique bar cabinets usually seen in clubs, the unrivalled and unique charm is thus foregrounded.
