The site of Hybrid Housing Project is situated in District 6, Cape Town. An area in the city that is being reviewed within current (architectural) discourse’s of community, practice and regulatory/ development frameworks.This project was a concerned with writing a hybrid type as a morphological response that shifts the standard space of housing delivery towards a system that integrates the cityscape with the building fabric.Developed in the studio, House Home, UCT School of Architecture. The goal of the project was to contribute to the disciplinary discourse through various narrative design process’s and critical engagement. Which enabled concepts to be translated within the emergent social and urban condition – which subsequently manifested within an Architectural resolution.
