To spearhead the property’s interior design, Hard Rock Hotels enlisted the services of award-winning design firm Jeffrey Beers International to bring a music-infused vision to life, accented by legendary memorabilia honoring musicians from and inspired by New York City.
Music, in all its forms (from soundwaves to instruments to notes), was the main source of inspiration for JBI’s hospitality design of Hard Rock Hotel New York. The studio was also inspired by a New York from a bygone era when jazz clubs, speakeasies and dinner-theater performances were all the rage.
The intent of the design is to make the guests feel instantly transported to a new, exciting, and engaging atmosphere that brilliantly exudes the entertainment energy of New York with the culture and history of Hard Rock, as well as the artistry of music and performance.
Bold materials include lush dark woods, striking marbles, luxurious brass finishes, and tactile leather and velvet fabrics. The color palette is handsome and timeless, featuring the property’s signature blue, rich browns, warm golds and brass, as well as surprise pops of metallic silver, lush greens, and vibrant reds. The overall look and feel, therefore, is both modern and timeless, exciting and youthful, inviting and warming.
Throughout the design, an artistic expression of music is layered in meticulous detail throughout every area of the hotel. In each space, the guest discovers a design or sculptural homage to either musical instruments, such as guitars and brass wind instruments, or to music notes and sound waves.
