The apartment is located in a restored, historic, pre-war tenement house. The interior design, created by the Wrocław-based Kohlrabi office, assumed a new functional layout, which was to open and connect the space of individual zones, while obtaining the largest possible surface of hidden storage. Investors wanted a classic and functional interior.
To emphasize the history of the place, the architects chose natural materials and off-white on the walls. There are many elements of wood here, an overview from subscription French herringbone, wooden framed, oak kitchen, ash doors and wooden furniture. The stucco has been restored in the apartment. A breakthrough in the classic interior are modern large- format tiles, 1cm thick kitchen worktops made of a compact board in a deep mat, a metal shelves, but above all, a bold introduction of matt colors on the labels.
The hall and part of the living room have been completely painted in a deep green color. In conjunction with high mirrors, the narrow corridor creates a unique illusion of space. An additional wall has been inserted in the living room, which hides the high kitchen furniture and at the same time is a decorative element of the room. A maroon sofa stood in front of it, and a desk with a flower shelf in the corner. The kitchen is a decorative background for the living room with its saturated greenery and brass accessories. Behind tall sliding doors there is a dark blue romantic bedroom. To introduce more light, half of the wardrobe is also made of high mirrors. Behind a hidden door there is a bathroom. This is a unique place in the apartment. The underwater plant motif on the wallpaper was combined with a terrazzo top, grooved tiles and natural, dark colors. Irregular, oval shapes were smugled on the mirror and numerous lamps.
Several unique elements were created especially for this apartment. Mainly wooden doors with fluted glass, but also some patinated brass accessories. Sliding door handles, wardrobe handles or brass sheet cladding on kitchen cabinets are the original designs of Kohlrabi architects. Desks are covered with wooden, stained bastions. The flower rack, bookshelf and shelves in the shower are made entirely of steel.
