Tommaso Spinzi of Spinzi Design.
If you feel like this place looks vaguely familiar, that’s because it probably is. We previously featured Tomasso Spinzi’s epic Milan loft, albeit in a slightly different iteration.
This time, the founder of Spinzi Design is presenting his new three-piece furniture collection at Spazio Spinzi (via Regaldi 6, Milano) and at Spazio Siam (via Santa Marta 18, Milano) during Milano Design City (from 28 September to 10 October).
“Our goal is to generate a sense of beauty through living that is connected to our passions,” says Tomasso. “Spinzi’s works are sculptural pieces that reflect a crosslink between automotive, interior and fashion fields.”
The collection comprises Lamé modular sofa system, Planar dining table, and Meccano lounge set.
Technical and tactile like an air-cooled engine, Lamè melts the hardware world of engine mechanics with the softness of a seat. The foamy grey leather welcomes a chill-out session while the structure lends a sense of ethereal stability. The gaps between the slats represent a “screen” between the front and the back of the sofa, conferring sensuality to this piece.
Planar Table brings together the delicacy and lightness of the planar surfaces connected to the world of aircrafts with the smoothness of nature in its superficial finishes. Raw but classy, the table is an art piece that merges honest materials aged by time and nature together with sleek details that give precious light to the dark volume. Planar is made in collaboration with studio F from Torino.
Sharp, masculine and playful are the pieces of Meccano Collection. The technical aspect of the construction world and the metal details recalling the car lifestyle give back a unique attitude to the collection. Edgy yet graceful Meccano represents the intimacy of Spinzi’s approach to furniture design with an outcome that is creative and classic at the same time.
