The Sao Lourenco do Barrocal farm has been in the same family for 200 years, with 780 hectares of land dedicated to cork oak, olive trees and grapevines. The great Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura was responsible for restoring this dreamy rural retreat. The house was created according to the traditional Mediterranean lifestyle of Alentejo, which is part of the hotel project in combination with its modernity. It reflects a sensitivity to sustainable development and respect for the environment, local culture and community.

Its interior is almost monastic, decorated by the defunct Lisbon studio AnahoryAlmeida, which invites artists, artisans and designers to collaborate to create Spaces made mainly of wood, marble and ceramics, mixing artist objects with traditional objects from Alentejo, with deep roots in the ground.

Guests can enjoy Egyptian cotton sheets, linen blankets and heated floors, ensuring a comfortable stay even in the winter, when the sun shines and the ideal refuge is a huge swimming pool permeated by granite.
