On Sunday morning, 22nd of March 2020, immediately after the most devastating earthquake in the past 140 years struck the city of Zagreb, brave Cropix photographers rushed out of their homes to capture the wounded city. Together with the curators from Hanza Media & their daily newspaper Jutarnji List, we developed the experiential exhibition concept through which the best photographs are presented to the public.
Carefully choosing the location in the very center of the city, overlooking the damaged Zagreb Cathedral, we built a free standing scaffolding as one of the most recognizable symbols of the post-earthquake period still present around numerous buildings. Along with several chimneys that fell off the downtown roofs and a construction crane carrying the main exhibition banner, visitors are briefly translated back to that moment all of us will carry in our memory for a long time.
