Located in the recently opened Shenzhen One Bay shopping mall, the new tailor store aims to cater a modern audience while emphasizing the classic nature of a bespoke tailor suit.

我们通过着手研讨针对西装定制馆的私密性与公共性、现代及经典、店内体验快节奏与慢节奏的对立之分来开展该项目的室内设计。

We approached the project by focusing on the dichotomies of privacy and publicity, fast and slow, modern and classic. An arch ‘colonnade’ is placed at the front of the store, acting as a unifying element in an awkwardly shaped store. Customers enter the colonnade lined with an array of suits, accessories and shoes for display. Eventually, the customer is led to a large sitting room at the back where he/she will consult with the tailor in privacy and comfort.

一座拱形柱廊被设置在门店的前端区域，在这个空间里它扮演的是统一空间的角色，串联起顾客踏入店内可见的拱形柱廊西装展示及周边的配饰区等空间，最终顾客将被引导至在后方的一个座谈区，在这里进行与裁缝的近距离交谈。以上区域交叉了私密与公开性，拱门柱廊无疑是公开的，它需要被看见，而座谈区则是私密的，顾客在这需要的是独享的私密对话。

店内的拱形柱廊的设置在整体空间里留下了些剩余的位置，这些位置的功能设置完善了西装定制馆的整体运营系统；鞋履及配饰的展示区在靠近店铺最前端（入口）以便顾客快速的游览，而座谈区则在店内最靠里面的位置，在这里顾客将坐下来花时间决定版型、布料等细节。

The position of the arched gallery leaves few remnant spaces. Each of them complements the suit area as to offer all needs for a proper tailor shop to function. The shoes and the accessories area are adjacent to the entrance hall for customers to quickly reach them. Whereas, the sitting room is the ending and the most distant area of the store where fabrics, collars, cuffs and other details are decided.

在该项目的建造实现上，我们选择了橡木、灰色水磨石、浅灰色墙漆及深蓝色布料作为组合搭配。所有的家具及拱形门廊一致采用木材，室内墙刷以浅灰漆作为背景，地面则采用了三种不同的材料以营造出店内三种不同的氛围质感。拱形门廊置于灰色的水磨石地面带出对比效果，鞋履区域及量身更衣室选用深蓝色地毯营造出更舒适的体验，店内的其他地面则一致采用木地板以强调该店的精致经典格调。

To construct the tailoring store, we choose oak wood, grey terrazzo, light grey paint and blue-navy fabric. All the furniture, the arches and the door frames are in wood. The walls are covered with light-grey paint. And for the floors, three different materials offer three different sensibility and touch around the store. The colonnade sits on a grey terrazzo flooring to contrast with the natural oak color. The shoes area and the changing room are layered withblue-navy carpet for a more comfortable and visual experience. Then, the remnant spaces use a wood timber floor to accentuate the refinement of the store.
