Anna Cafeteria is an AD9 Architects‘s project designed in mid-2018 and completed at the end of 2019. The architectural morphology and structure of the project is based on basic geometrical shapes, and the spacededicated for guests to immerse and enjoy their coffee is prioritized to be widened horizontally to its maximum. The ground level is consisted of naturally continuous intertwining layers, with nature being the connecting point that brings balance and harmony. These layers also create a harmony of light and colors to the eyes.
The first floor is constructed with a high mansard roof, carrying a solar panels system to field and turn solar power into the project’s electricity, aiming for clean and environmental friendly source of energy. The wood coated ceiling, with the purpose of grounding the cafeteria’s furniture and its daily activities on the floor, leaving the upper space for peace and quiet. This vertical structure gives a reflective effect by letting the light shines through the reserved free space.
At different moments of the day, the cafeteria and its furniture gracefully transform themselves through the dance of the light, and guests can immerse in the ever changing atmosphere and become the focal point of the whole space. This project is designed with the purpose of creating an immersive experience in an area already crowded by industrial zones. Furthermore, we want to create a place that would bring forward a more positive outlook on life for the people living in the area.
