The 2.0 Explorer
Alibaba Group is one of the biggest Internet and Data Company in the world and. It delivers technology infrastructure and services in order to connect consumers with producers and sellers all around the world, overcoming geographical barriers.
Alibaba is the symbol of the contemporary explorer, who seeks out new markets. Thought its digital platform it is able to build buying and selling transactions, by offering different services, from search engine to entertainment, from payment services to cloud computing and logistic. This allows supporting people all over the globe everyday and helping them to navigate the online market, creating infinitive synergies into the digital economy.
Interpreting its boundless spirit, the new Milan offices, designed by Il Prisma, has been conceived by creating iconic launchpads connect to the Alibaba world, generating an immersive experience where the brand values are disclosed in the form of Tao Dolls; the mascots that represent each one a company value. These characters are the symbolic union between the oriental culture, innovation, and globalization practiced by Alibaba for years.
From the wizard to the pioneer, from innovator to the explorer, Tao Dolls are all sides of the unique, consolidated and successful company philosophy established by Jack Ma.
All these “souls” are expressed inside the spaces designed for Alibaba Milan where open space are alternated with informal meeting rooms linked by launchpads.
Translating a physical space of a brand based on the digital space could be paradoxical, but it’s a new increasing trend. To know its result it would be enough to visit Alibaba new Milan offices, to realize that these two realities actually are not so distinct each other.
