考虑到雪灾的影响，我们采用无缝镀铝锌钢板将屋顶和墙壁连接起来，因此每个房间外露的桦木胶合板都足以支撑雪的重量。虽然这是只是一种所谓的独立型双家庭住宅，但每个房间都有潮湿区，而且日式房就在中间。然而日式房却被两个家庭默认地一份为二，也可用它来举办年度仪式。

Here we introduce a design plan of the two-family residence in Yamagata prefecture. It is composed of a one-story house for elder family, a two-story house for younger family, and a japanese style room with a terrace between those houses. The roofs of houses of both sides smoothly connected, although their heights are not equal.

Considering the effects of snow cornice and snow damages, we connect its roof and walls seamlessly with galvalume steel sheets, and the walls which expose birch plywoods in each room support the heavy weight of snow. Although this is kind of the so-called independent type two-family residence, in which a set of wet area is installed in each house, the japanese style room is placed in between; while the japanese style room is separated in two for each of the families by default, it can also be connected for annual ceremonies.
