将 80 层高的住宅楼划分为具有独特尺寸的露台，为每个楼层提供个性化居住环境，同时保持公共空间的开放性。

Wilshire tower is a residential tower proposed by Platform for Architecture+Research in Wilshire boulevard of Los Angeles. It is an 80 floor residential building, the design of which is presently displayed in the exhibition “Shelter: Rethinking how we live in Los Angeles” at A+D museum until 6th of November. The exhibition explores new forms of housing for the city.

It is a high-rise housing designed with courtyard planning with large terraces of distinguished sizes at each level. Each level of the tower is designed as per the requirements of the occupant of that floor, unique yet bound with other levels. The terraces have been proposed to be used as leisure zones and common spaces for public interactions. The uniquely planned residences are stacked one over the other.

The current situation of high rise residential towers is such that they provide accomodation to a large number of people but rarely do they take care of creating an open environment and a sense of living individually, the two qualities which are abundantly present in the city. The Wilshire tower aims to provide a sense of individual living to each occupant regardless of the size of the tower.

PAR envisioned a site which is the cultural hub of the city for their proposal. Typical high rise towers do not identify with any typology, the design does not differ according to the type of spaces being catered to. To break this anonymity Wilshire tower has been designed as a 930 feet tall tower of individual houses stacked one over the other. It seems that they intend to completely reinvent the housing of Los Angeles.
