M别墅坐落在柏林的中央，是为一个学术的日-德家庭设计建造的一栋分离式城市住宅。项目的场址是矩形的，矩形西部的边沿着道路延伸长达15米，东部的边则扩展了40米。别墅被整合进了原始的城市别墅环境之中，这是通过以木墙作为街景的设计达到的。因为这个家庭有在三个大陆上生活过的经验，客户们强调了别墅对三个主要理念的要求。为了使自然光线和空气条件达到最优，建筑体量朝向南部，并被推到了北部的场址线上。

7x18的楼面板设计在冬天可以收集到尽可能多的光线和太阳能，在夏天则被高效的压入逸出式系统保护着。别墅的中心是厨房，厨房通过一个通往上部楼层的空隙连接着餐饮区域，别墅的三楼包含了孩子们的房间，二楼包含了起居室和为客人们准备的区域。别墅主要入口和后门之间存在间隔，进入别墅后可以享受到脱掉鞋子的乐趣，家人们团聚的餐饮区域是半凹陷式的，在一楼可以看到种有一棵樱桃树的花园，落叶松制的庭院门廊局部的被别墅的凹处覆盖着，别墅的设计混合了德国的概念和技术，是一栋非常节能和可持续的建筑体量。

House M is a detached town house in the middle of Berlin for an academic Japanese-German family. The rectangular site stretches 15 m along the road in the west and extends 40 m to the east. The building is integrated into the existing context of urban villas by its street view as wooden facade.With their living experiences on three continents, the clients emphasized the need for three main ideas for their home.To optimize the natural light and air conditions, the building is orientated to the south and pushed to the northern site line.

The 7 x 18 floor plate collects as much sunlight and sun energy as possible in winter and is protected by an effective louvre system in summer. The centre of the house is the kitchen, which connects the dining area with a void to the upper floors, which contain the children rooms on the second floor, and the living and guest areas on first floor.The separation of entrances between the main and the back door, the pleasure of taking off shoes when coming home, the half sunken dining area as the location for family reunion, the garden floor bath overlooking the garden with a cherry tree, and the courtyard porch of larch wood partly covered by the recess of the house mingle here with the German concept and technique of a highly energy efficient and sustainable building.
