Recognizing an opportunity to bolster its positioning as a destination for luxury retail, a design vision was developed for The Galleria to meet the consumer’s evolving expectations by executing an unprecedented retail strategy in the Korean market.
To sell the holistic image of fashion, four floors of the existing floor plate were completely redesigned as a unified Galleria environment. Inspired by a gallery space, the interplay of scale and planar forms integrated with sculptural profiles, subtle contrasts, and tailored details anchor designer collections while creating a welcoming backdrop for retail. Iconic design elements featured on each floor disguise operational zones and provide a creative point of reference for shoppers as they navigate the space.
With Korea gaining a reputation as the gateway for brands entering the Asian market, the strength of this launch has allowed Galleria to enter into exclusive partnerships with a number of international brands, evolving The Galleria experience into a luxury retail destination.
