This highest and most exceptional landmark is located in the centre of the Lagos hotel district.
Mixed programme
This operation assembles within a single coherent architectural entity, several different functions on a very restricted site with strict planning constraints:
• 100-room guesthouse
• medical and social centre
• conference centre and restaurants
• health club with outdoor sports areas
• large car park
The grouped functions within two vertical volumes create a hierarchy in elevation that simplifies the building expression.
Within a large frame, the street volume integrates within a single volume - the car park levels, the medical and social centre, the conference centre and health club. Each function is identified by an individual expression in elevation.
Environmental approach
The architectural and technical design meets ambitious environmental objectives:
• Reduction of energy consumption, especially those related to air conditioning, while ensuring optimal comfort for users;
• Reduction of drinking water consumption;
• Optimisation of waste management, especially medical waste, that anticipates the City of Lagos waste sorting policy; and
• Use of the site particularities to facilitate operations and the maintenance of buildings and plant.
