Located between downtown Houston and Texas Medical Center, and anchored by three transit stations, Midtown is poised to become a walkable mixed use community founded on sophisticated planning and design. As a result a renaissance of the district is occurring by young professionals and families.

Bagby Street is an emerging mixed use corridor in the district that was rendered as a 4-lane collector between major highways and yet, trying to become a pedestrian oriented street environment. Through the existing analysis of key street and pedestrian systems such as traffic volume, circulation, tree heath and shade, utilities, land use per block, and lighting, the 10 block reconstruction and transformation of Bagby Street created a successful design that manifested the 80’ right of way to a 2-lane road with significant pedestrian features, increased safety, on street parking and numerous sustainable elements.
