Global curators Tigmi Trading have officially opened the doors of their new Byron Bay flagship, a beautiful large-scale working studio that will serve as a permanent home for the entire Tigmi collection, set in the creative hub of the Byron Arts & Industrial Estate. As the first concept store that appears on the main stretch of Bayshore Drive, the building welcomes you in by way of the tranquil, yet striking shopfront of Moroccan meets Mediterranean inspired gardens and a bold entrance lined with a trio of steel archways.

等待合适的时机和空间来建造属于自己的工作室是品牌的重中之重，Tigmi Trading的创始人兼创意总监Danielle McEwan说：“多年来，我们一直在寻找合适的空间来满足不断扩大的业务需求，最终我们在拜伦湾工业区的中心找到一处空间，这是一个大型仓库，其高天花和适当的构架使我们看到巨大的潜力。”经过数月改造，Tigmi可以对空间进行特定设计，以容纳他们不断增多的经典作品、当地作品、摩洛哥和土耳其复古与现代地毯的核心作品。

Waiting for the right moment and space to call their own was everything for the brand – “After years searching the area for the right space to move our expanding business needs into – we found a space in the heart of Byron Bay’s industrial area – a large scale warehouse with high ceilings and the right bones that we could see great potential,” says Danielle McEwan, Founder & Creative Director of Tigmi Trading. After months of renovation, Tigmi were able to custom-design the space to house their expanding collection of iconic design pieces, locally produced collections and their formative core collection of Moroccan and Turkish vintage and contemporary rugs.

Danielle接着说道：“设计的关键在于空间可以容纳我们的产品并允许它们呼吸。我想给客户创造脱离时空的体验。工作室空间的融合和整合也很重要，它可以不断发展并获得当下的能量。无论拍照、设计会议还是接收新库存，工作室的运作均是客户体验的一部分。”

“The most important element was that the space could handle the scale of our pieces and allowed them to breathe at the same time. I wanted to create an experience for the customer to escape to that defies time or place. It was also important that the space blend and integrate as the working studio that is constantly evolving and capturing the energy of whatever is happening on that day. Whether that is photoshoots, design meetings or receiving of a new inventory. The workings of the studio are all part of the customer experience.” says Danielle.

工作室设计考虑了本地和国际客户。内在的、不断变化的“全球设计体验”展示并呼应不断发展的、独特的、精心设计的手工作品，顾客在商店中就可以体验它们。“这家店体现了我们的旅程、对旅行和设计的热爱以及对传统生产方式的尊重。我们一直在努力寻找更有意识的生活方式，倡导慢生活和更加谨慎的消费方式，即购买能引起深刻共鸣、唤起回忆、经得起时间考验的物品。”

The studio was designed with both local and international clientele in mind. A visceral and ever changing ‘global design experience’ to display and play with the constantly evolving collection of unique, carefully curated handmade pieces, that can be enjoyed as much in store as virtually. “The store reflects our journey and love of travel, design and honours traditional methods of production. We are continually striving for a more conscious way to live – encouraging slow living and a more measured way to consume. Buying things that resonate on a deep level, that evoke memories and stand the test of time.”

商店真正的核心是地毯。室内精心设置了复古与现代的摩洛哥、土耳其地毯，它们因永恒的品质和作为功能性艺术品引起的共鸣而入选。室内还推出大量复古而经典的收藏，包括手工挑选的Pierre Jeanneret家具组合、Jan Ekselius的Etcetera系列、Metafora咖啡桌以及Gae Aulenti设计的灯具。Tigmi首个本地家具系列也在展出中，它是当地工匠制作的、以泥土和有机为灵感的微水泥餐桌和咖啡桌系列。

At the helm or rather, heart – of the store are the rugs. A highly-curated edit of vintage and contemporary Moroccan and Turkish rugs that have been hand-selected for their timeless quality and resonance as functional works of art. Launching with an extensive collection of vintage and iconic re-editions, a hand-picked mix of Pierre Jeanneret Furniture, Jan Ekselius’ Etcetera Series, Metafora Coffee Tables and lighting by Gae Aulenti. Tigmi’s first ever locally designed furniture range is also on display – an earthy and organic inspired collection of micro cement dining and coffee tables that are made to order by a local artisan.
