Hoerr Schaudt’s master plan for the fifteen-acre McGovern Centennial Gardens – the Hermann Park Conservancy’s largest project in a century – created a series of experiences that can be programmed for a wide variety of audiences: from the casual weekend gardener to master classes hosted by local clubs. These include a high mount from which people can view the entire garden, and an entrance promenade leading to a pavilion designed by architect Peter Bohlin. Visitors can stroll among roses, enjoy an arid garden and learning center, and discover alongside their children in the family garden. New entrances improve connections between the project and adjacent residential areas and cultural institutions, including the Children’s Museum, the Health Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
