Family house is situated in small village nearby Olomouc city. Whole area has a rich cultural background with many historical buildings and beautiful views of surrounding lowland and highland. Plot itself has amazing view of countryside dominant – Svatý kopeček - a hill with the church on the top. For house design was this view crucial. The plot has north-south orientation and leaves southern part for the garden.
Territorial plan contained pitched roof requirement together with respecting some historical features like shape and orientation of the house. We respected these requirements and used two pitched roofs. Various roof angles created modern and dynamic look. Higher roof contain 2nd floor while space under lower roof serves as storage place.
Basic house shape is rectangular. View of the hill with church is diagonal in south-east direction. We cut southern and eastern facade and created 5th facade facing directly the church direction. Thanks to this modification we turned the main view from living area in the house to this historical building.
Ground floor contains living room with kitchen and dining place, guest room, technical background and garage. Upper floor serves as relax zone and has one big childrens room, master bedroom, bathroom and a lot of storage space in closets.
Facades are created with white plaster combined with wood and metal roof. These materials were used as a clean solution for highlighting the modern shape of the house.
