THE HERITAGE RHYTHM This project is another work in my university studio. The boutique hotel locates at the site of a state heritage, which has brick facade needs to be retained. The main idea is to create the spaces (especially the facilities of the hotel) can be experienced as an outdoor area when they actually are inside the building since the site plan is quite small. To make it, I design multistorey voids which contain those amenities where customers both use it and in the other hotel rooms can more or less get in touch with. The view from the bed rooms can extend through these half indoor half outdoor to the crowded city underneath. The construction has no solid wall but openable facade with glass louvres and brick screen. The characteristic walls are assembled by brick poles with approriate systematic rotation. It has the vibration effect that makes people walking on the street can feel it like a gentle wavy animation surfaces.
