Two years ahead of the much-anticipated launch of the first urban Resort in Dubai, One & Only, One Za’abeel, the client and operator identified a gap for a possible new product offering; the first fitness & Recovery themed hotel, SIRO. LW Design were given the opportunity to conceptualize and design the pilot project. This endeavor marked the first of its kind in the region and positioned SIRO as the benchmark to open globally.

SIRO's mission is to ignite a community of passionate individuals to unlock their potential by crafting immersive experiences, interactive spaces, and captivating destinations.

An immersive lifestyle destination centered around active recovery, regardless of one's distance from home. Siro is a fluid yet dynamic space that encourages social interaction and connection, designed to keep guests relaxed& rejuvenated until they're prepared to engage with the innovative workout facilities. It is a dynamic and interactive space that energizes guests from the guestrooms to the studios, from sunrise to sunset.

The heart of the hotel spans over two floors. Level 30 encompasses the “Starting Block” (Lobby), the collective (an amphitheater for briefings and meetings) The “Fitness Lab” a state of the art Gym, Experience Box &Cycle Studio. Level 31 focuses on recovery with treatment rooms, yoga studio, pilatesstudio, Zen room, Relaxation area tiled with Himalayan Salt walls and changing facilities – each area surrounded by jaw dropping views of Dubai and the link. A Sculptural spiral staircase connects the two floors while also serving as the focal point of the starting block space, emphasizing SIRO’s ethos of balancing performance fitness & mindful regeneration.

If there was a single word to define the arrival to SIRO, it would be “dynamic.” This is visible from the moment of arrival;Instantly you’re surrounded by the organic forms of Swiss artist Roman Bratschi, and as you traverse between lobby and gym the artwork imagery morphs and bends through the use of lenticular technology, embodying the hotel's commitment to constant transformation.The art collection at SIRO was curated and executed by Capsule Arts with each piece chosen to resonate with the hotel’s brand and to connect with the guests through their shared passion of athleisure and wellbeing.The Starting Block, a central stone coffee counter made of textured stones and light timber finishes compensate for the absence of a formal front desk. Here, guests interact freely with a SIRO team member ready to assist with digital check-in or kickstart the day with the perfect latte or protein smoothie. Framing the lobby, renowned Filipino artist and former Dubai resident, James Clar, contributes a set of two light art installations exploring the nexus between technology and movement. The work is a conceptual realization of a human's mental and physical biometrics in a rest state vs. active state.

Designed to inspire and unite, flexible seating groups in the lobby cater to individuals and groups, illuminated by contemporary pieces such as the Theia floor lamp from Marset. The Refuel Bar, a bronze metal & Nordic Grey stone juice bar lit by the Shiva Linear suspended light from Morghen Studio, is situated in the heart of the lobby, while the amphitheater style seating known as “the collective” anchors the opposite side becoming an iconic location for work, relaxation, meetings and presentations.

The gym areas exude power with darker finishes punctuated by digital screens,mirrored finishes, and dynamic lighting, developed in collaboration with Lighting Consultants, Studio Lumen. The Experience Box is an immersive dark studio illuminated with infinity light features, creating the ultimate environment for specialized high-intensity workouts.

The recovery floor exudes calm and serenity, with light polished plaster walls, timber cladding andtextured fabrics from Pierre Frey, Nobilis &Kirkby Design. Additionally, stenciled murals and 3D wall sculptures inspired by parametric waves grace connecting areas simulating energy and movement with the guest’s flow throughout the space. Treatment rooms feature strong grey stone vanities and curved timber ceiling creating a big impact in a small space.

A central Armani Grey marble vanity in the changing rooms separates dry and wet areas, with timber lockers wrapping around a stand-alone tree in a seamlessly integrated planter.

Working within the generous footprint of the existing room configuration, LW Design in collaboration with Kerzner had the opportunity to adapt the space to align with the SIRO brand. Light & Airy, the guestroom is a place to rest, relax and regenerate with minimalist luxury at the core of the design narrative. Each guestroom has floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of the city. Bush hammered serpegente marble flooring is paired with warm plaster walls and light oak timber to create a calming and restorative atmosphere. The Gravity chair by Varier overlooks the skyline ensuring complete connection with one’sinner self. The minibar is stocked with elixirs and tonics to boost and energize every soul. The room's main feature is the workout ladder, a carefully designed in-room fitness anchor equipped with yoga blocks and resistance bands to allow every guest to condition their body after a hard day.

The bathroom optimizes space with a large double vanity facing the open closet, offering guests an expansive area to get ready.

There are two Suite types on offer for guests looking to level up their stay. Both suitesoffer larger rooms and customizable, personalized fitness and recovery offerings, including sleep-optimizing technology and a private treatment room. The fitness suite is tailored to guests looking to supercharge their performance, with a private workout area equipped with the latest fitness gear and a suspended boxing bag. Meanwhile the recovery suite prioritizes active healing with a low seated dining area and recovery bathtub that looks over stunning skyline views.

The balance between dynamic energy and restorative calmness is what defines and differentiates the two public floors of SIRO. The arrival spaces and gym facilities are lively with energetic music, LED lighting features, and dynamic artwork while the recovery floor is centered around restoration and recovery leading to complete serenity in the guestroom spaces which are fresh, calm, and serene, focusing on rest and rejuvenation. Cofounder and Creative Director of Capsule Arts Rachael Brown expressed, "We love the energy of the space, and how the art contributes to that through dynamic and technology-driven pieces. It’s been great to collaborate on a project that sought to bring something new and innovative to the hospitality industry and allowed us the creative freedom for the art to mirror that and truly represent the brand."

Converting two existing floor plates previously designed to be One & Only guestroom units to public floors for SIRO presented structural limitations as Ceiling heights and MEP were installed and frozen. LW Design worked tirelessly with the lead Architect Nikken Sekkeiand MEP consultant to address the challenges of introducing the feature spiral staircase between level 30 & 31. Rigorous measures were introduced to create this lightweight structure that is the focal point of the SIRO lobby. Furthermore, LW used creative materials to disguise the height limitations like reflective finishes, dynamic lighting, and digital screens, while still resulting in an engaging and exciting bold yet compelling space.

920 SQM of fitness spaces with stunning skyline views of Downtown Dubai. The Recovery Consultant “Yves Presslier” Designed the space to function as one of the best in the region with state of the art Technogym equipment. “The Wellness” designed and coordinated all the recovery equipment on level 31. More than just a spa, all 1700 SQM of the recovery floor focuses on prehab & rehab, withmultiuse rooms offering treatments from sports massagesto dry needling, while specialized treatment rooms focus on the latest recovery practices such as Cryo, Red Light & Percussion therapy.

Encouraging sustainability and green practices, water stations fitted with the HydroTap from Zipwater by Culligan International have been placed in both the suites& public areas, minimizing single-use plastic consumption.

Lighter finishes of polished plaster, oak timber cladding, and textured tiles from 41Zero42 supplied by Taf House are contrasted with black metal detailing, bronze mesh screens, and SIRO’s signature green accents. Keeping the design fresh, youthful and grounded, reflecting the ideologies and mentality of SIRO itself.

The Tara sanitary collection by Dornbracht perfectly complements the cool laidback style of the rest of the space.
