Japanese architect Tadao Ando has designed a new cultural memorial center in the historic Liangzhu village of Hangzhou, China. The cultural centre is surrounded by a serene landscape of cherry blossoms, as well as a theatre, library and gallery, with three different "boxes" covered by a large roof. Triangular cuts in the roof allow natural light to pour onto the concrete surface and onto the stairwell. The interior also features a light-filled space with floor-to-ceiling Windows that offer soothing views of nature.
