Mirage is a new French bistrot at Nettelbeckplatz in Berlin Wedding. It was founded by four friends: two Germans and two French, all of them live next door. Together they largely implemented the location with their own hands, which is not only a cafe but also a place for artists and creative people. All of the four owners have experience with event business, that’s why concerts and readings, as well as exhibitions and workshops take place here. 

STUDIO VOS was asked to design an open, bright and friendly location: the result is a light-filled space with pastel colors, in which new architectural elements were combined with modern and old furniture. An eye-catcher is the podium wall made out of colorful Heraklith plates which not only serve as geometrically shimmering backdrop for artistic performances but also improves the acoustics. The harmonious mix of concrete, wood and bright colors is being completed by several planting spots into an oasis - simply Mirage.
