'2nd Dream Life' is an Adaptive Reuse project, turning the existing RISD second-hand art supply store structure into an ideological 'active community napping' space. The previous store, RISD 2nd Life is situated in Downtown Providence, RI. Inspired by the nature of the term “2nd Life”, free of work and stress, this project is dedicated to sleep deprived RISD students who are seeking naps in between studio times and work. This is a project of curves and endless flexibility and adventure, resembling the nature of waves and engaging physical climbing similar to a playground. It transforms rigid architecture into an exploratory and organic landscape, echoed with healing plants for the curing of ‘post-allnighters’ and deep stress. It is a plan of tunnels, slides, stress-free adventure and healing meditation.
