A winter storm blew a Cedar through the roof of this 1867 Victorian Mansion which is listed on the National Register. The Mansion serves as a museum and educational center for the Tiburon Audubon Center. As a result, the entire interior was stripped down to studs to repair the mold damage and the exterior was completely refurbished including custom roofing shingles, redwood gutters, and widow’s walk.
At the same time, the Mansion was seismically stabilized, electrically rewired and thermally insulated to bring it up to current codes. For finishing touches, new Victorian chandeliers and wall sconces were installed throughout the museum and a hydronic heating system was installed which heats the building with hot water from the water heater.
