Boerejongens describes itself as ‘the Best Amsterdam Coffeeshop’. By providing top quality products, information and service they pushed the boundaries of what was considered till then a bit of a low-end business, mainly catering for tourists. Not only did they push the boundaries of quality product, but also they pushed the design of their stores to the next level: with high end, classy spaces and high quality finishes they refer to the notion of classical pharmacies, giving the customers a completely new shopping experience in this field.
For their latest branch we renovated a former industrial building in Amsterdam Sloterdijk. With its interior design we take a new step in the development of Boerenjongens’ brand identity, by taking their established classical elements and transforming them into a more contemporary design language.
The main ingredients still are the same: marble, oak wood and brass, but are applied with minimalistic detailing and with even more meticulous attention to detail. The rich and glossy interior is in stark contrast to the rugged exterior of the building and its industrial surroundings. It became a shiny and striking new destination for customers from in and around Amsterdam.
