悠航鲜啤,Slowboat Brewery,在啤酒⽂化的在地化实践中,俨然已经成为北京精酿啤酒中不可或缺的要⾓之⼀。承接创始店东四八条的设计精神,我们希望在新店麦⼦店78号中找到具有时代特⾊的北京元素,融合进空间本⾝赋予的⽓质当中,以体现悠航啤体内带有格调、略显不羁、轻松的DNA,如同店名的来源“开往中国的慢船/On A Slow Boat To China”这⾸歌中的描述⼀样:破旧帆船,漂流的梦想呢喃… 请将指南针扔过那个桅杆… 在整个世界之外,和你远离喧扰…

After being stuck in Covid-19 purgatory for the past few months, Beijing local Microbrewery Company , Slow Boat, has finally launched their brand new brewpub in the iconic neighborhood of Maizidian. Staying closely to the brand’s slogan of local and independent the design revisits some of the original elements of Slow Boat’s first taproom in the Dongsi Hutong, retaining the industrial, open concrete and white tiles with heavy long wood tables and benches. Meanwhile the six large south facing windows offer panoramic views of the street and let in ample natural light in day and night.

麦⼦店78号位在京城中带有⽇本⽓息的区域当中,前⾝是⼀个经营多年的北韩餐馆。这个由钢筋混凝⼟柱列所围塑出来的既有空间中,沿街开窗、梁柱结构、动线逻辑等,都明显带有现代建筑学包浩斯流派当中所谈及的造型与实⽤机能合⽽为⼀的空间氛围,然⽽在历史轨迹当中北京近代的建筑特⾊⼤都承袭⾄苏联史达林式建筑的特⾊,北京地铁⼆号线即为明显的例⼦,机能明确,空间分割清楚,最具特⾊的还是每站所使⽤的⽔磨⽯材料与天花藻井中的灯具设计变化,在严格规范中⼜极富变化性。作为回应,我们试着透过严格的模块分割将空间区分出各⾃的机能配置,并且每个⼩区块之间划上明确边界,互不侵犯,却⼜共属在同⼀个系统架构之下。

The Maizidian No. 78 location formally was an iconic Northern Korean restaurant in the past few years, which in an middle area of the capital near to the Japanese Embassy, the space has a strong concrete framework structure giving a sense of 1970 socialist factory. This spatial condition inspires us to look into Bauhausism to combined form and function. The characteristics of modern Beijing architecture are inherited from the characteristics of Soviet Stalin architecture. Beijing Subway Line 2 is an obvious example, with a clear functional division. However, the most distinctive thing is the terrazzo flooring used in each station and the changes in the design of the lamps in the ceiling, which are extremely variable in strict specifications. In response, we tried to divide the space into separate functional configurations through strict module division, and draw clear boundaries between each sub-block, so as not to infringe each other, but all belong to the same system architecture.

主入⼝上⽅的船形灯具暗⽰了“开往中国的慢船”,⽽主空间上⽅的⾦属管灯则暗⽰了空间中各个区块的边界分割,并借由整体统⼀的灯具造型主导了⽤餐区的空间调性。有别于其他分店,麦⼦店的客群⼤都以家庭亲⼦为主,因此⽩天与夜晚的空间调性必然不同。

The boat-shaped lamps on the main entrance symbolized the song ” On a Slow Boat to China”, and the subordinate tube lights on the main space implied the boundary division of each block in the hall, which are unified by the whole shape of the lamps dominates the spatial tone of the dining area. Different from other branches, the customers of the Maizidian are mainly family-oriented, so the spatial tone of day and night must be different.

午后阳光斜射进沿街的⼤窗,明亮开敞的⽤餐环境符合我们对⽓氛中带点慵懒与轻松的期待。入夜之后透过灯光的变化,我们将氛围转换成啤酒⼤堂(beer hall)那般的喧闹景象。

In the afternoon, the sun shining obliquely into the windows alongside the street, and the bright and open dining environment meets our expectations of a lazy and relaxed atmosphere. After nightfall, through the change of lights, we transformed the atmosphere into a noisy scene like a beer hall.

材料上整合了不同⽔磨⽯与磁砖的搭配,⼀⽅⾯保有悠航啤酒品牌中红、⽩、⿊的颜⾊元素,同时掺入麦⼦、⾦属、⽔泥、⽊头等概念进来,好比地⾯带有麦⼦点的⽔磨⽯、裸露原有的⽔泥横梁等。悠航啤酒麦⼦店的设计是⼀个融合⻄⽅与在地⽂化的试验,我们尝试透过历史轨迹、地域场景与制作⼯艺来实现品牌精神,期待在这个快速更迭的时代中能够贡献⼀丝时代的连续性。

The material integrates the collocation of different terrazzo concrete and tiles. It retains the red, white, and black color elements from the Slow Boat brewery brand, and incorporates the concepts of natural materials, such as wheat, metal, mud, and wood, those balanced the blank the ground and exposed original mud beams. The interior design combined well with western aesthetic tools and oriental local spirits, we tried to trace back regional characteristic and practical technology to achieve the brand culture and to recall a sense of history romanticism.
