Deshaus 大舍建筑设计事务所

大舍于2001年成立于上海，现任主持建筑师柳亦春和陈屹峰分别出生于1969年和1972年，他们的本科和研究生都毕业于同济大学建筑系，也都曾就职于同济大学建筑设计研究院，柳亦春还有过在广州市设计院三年的工作经历。这就使得他们的实践从一开始就具备了扎根本土的设计经验。

Deshaus was established in Shanghai at 2001. The architect associates Liu Yichun and Chen Qifeng were born on 1969 and 1972 respectively. After their graduation from Department of Architecture at Tongji University,they both worked at Tongjin Architecture Design Group, and for Liu, there was another three years experiment at Guangzhou Design institute. Their experiment were largely base on the local culture which laid a solid foundation for their future work.

大舍成立以来12年的工作立足于他们工作的所在地上海周边的江南地域，他们注重实践，并努力培养在这一地域的文化因素中进行设计的敏感性，以诚实的态度理解文化并运用于实践。注重特定的场所与现实，以及对自我秉性的认知。

Deshaus performs the majority of its work at the region around Shanghai, where their office located, in the last 12 years. They focus on practice, trying to be sensitive of local culture and embedding their design within the historic context.

Deshaus begins by contemplating on who they are and where they are, and sharply observes what is missing in the history of Chinese modern architecture and searches for the new understanding of reason (Li) which does not cut off its relationship with the traditional philos. of poetics and ethics (Qing). Such an ambition requires the engagement in memory through art from a cross-culture perspective, the fusion of Li and Qing.

“Objecthood” and “Situatedness” “即物即境”

在2013年Studio-X哥伦比亚大学北京建筑中心举办的个展中，大舍使用了“即物即境”作为一段时期以来建筑创作的总结:

“物”对应着建筑的实体、或称之为建筑本身，一种被存在的状态；“境”对应着由实体成就的一个空间及其氛围的存在，是一种存在的状态。在建筑设计中，总是由“物”来完成“境”的存在，而最终也是“境”成就了建筑之所以为“物”。建筑学显然还与更多的东西相关，社会的、地域的、城市的、传统的、文化的，等等。而大舍关注的重点是，在遭受了这诸多因素的影响之后，我们如何回到建筑本体？

大舍的实践从一开始就与所在的“江南”这样一个地域文化的理解密切相关，无论自觉或者不自觉，大舍之前大部分的建筑都像一个自我完善的小世界，有很多关键词可以描述它：容器、边界、迷宫、路径、内向性、时间性、诗意……等等，这个小世界的原型就是“园”。在构筑这个小世界的过程中，抽象然后再现是大舍常用的一种回到本体的方法，或可称之为“即境即物”。然而在当下的境况中，大舍致力寻求建筑自主的更多的可能性，如何由外部条件结合或诱导内部结构产生新的空间形式是大舍当下工作的重点。

We borrow two terms from Philosophy——“Objecthood” and “Situatedness”——and relocate them into our current discourse of architecture. By “Objecthood”, we mean any entity or building once built or to be built, into a state of fulfillment; whereas by “Situatedness”, we mean a milieu or atmosphere full of potentiality for such a fulfillment.

Through design, we think, it is the objecthood of a project that ought to explore the potentiality of a situation, which in return forms an interwoven web for buildings and other entities. This observation testifies our long lasting and overwhelming concern to the ontological questions of building.

Obviously, to build always opens to multiplicity of things, be they social, regional, civic, conventional or cultural factors. Our main concern has been: after all these implications, can we still maintain building both as an action and an object in itself ?

It goes without saying that our practices have been deeply entrenched by our understandings of and lives within the geo-cultural Jiangnan, consciously or subconsciously. All of the built projects of Deshaus highly resemble to a self-sustaining cosmos, whose characteristics can be described by a string of key words: containment, boundary condition, maze, path, introvertedness, temporality, poeticness, etc.. In fact, same words are often applicable to these literati gardens in Jiangnan. In doing so, we have experienced shuttling processes between abstraction and concretization, or to be rephrased, between the objecthood of a building through exploring the potentiality of a situation and the situatedness of a site that a building eventually has to return.

We tend to believe that through our concentration on making building more situated, while seeking the much debated architectural autonomy, we could form a critical response to the current superfluous society. Architecture in China has been burdened for too long and too much of things extraneous, which inevitably weakens its disciplinary strength. To care about the immediacy of Objecthood and Situatedness of Architecture, to us, holds a positive value in our practices. After all, we humans still perpendicularly and directly put two feet on the earth. And that is why even the simplest gesture of support and shelter can create a sense of permanence.

OFFICE 办公室

大舍的办公室是大舍新近完成的临时建筑作品，它集中思考了建筑的内在结构如何与具体的功能使用以及外在风景之间的相互关系，比如这个设计以砖混结构对应了小的封闭性使用空间，如档案室、财务室、模型制作室等，以轻型钢结构对应高敞的办公空间，而混凝土的屋面因为避让既有的梧桐树形成了特别的弯曲形态……结构、功能、材料、细部、尺度，所有可见的推敲最后都退至一种整体感之后。

The office of Deshaus is a temporary architecture recently fulfilled by Deshaus, it requires the architectural structure to meet the functional requirements and to coordinate with the landscape. Brick-concrete structure were used to house closed, small-scale rooms such as archives, financing office and modeling workshop while spacious office was base on a light steel structure. The curving shape of the concrete roof gives space to the existing plane trees. ultimately，a sense of wholeness rise upon structure, function, material, details and scale.

于是在某个时段，这里的描写会是这样：“露台是湿的，雨刚停，折角的汇水处还在滴水，落在树下从别的工地捡回来的弯的金属管里，水被导至树根的位置。冬日深色的梧桐树的枝杈倒映在表面还饱含水分的露台上，屋顶银色的波纹金属板和亮白的天空几乎混在了一起，天窗里透出温暖的黄色灯光，天色渐渐暗了下来……”

So at some point, the architecture would be described as this: “The terrace is soaked by the sudden rain. The water dripping from the corner rest in the crooked pipe that picked up from another building site, flowing all the way down to the roots. The shadow of the plane trees falls on the terrace, corrugated sheets on the roof almost merged into the bright sky，the warm saffron light reflect out through the louver. Twilight is falling… ”

房屋一旦建造，就不再需要太多的理论去表述，建造的结果只有专业的解读才指向建造的过程，更多的，它指向建造后日常的生活。

Theoretical statement shall be discarded once the architecture is accomplished. The process reveals only under professional analysis. Most of the time, architecture is referred to the every day life it accommodated.

不过对建筑师而言，建造的过程却容纳着指引他继续前行的思考。在这个设计中，内在的结构与外在的风景形成了一种共同体，也许始于结构终于风景，或者反过来，始于风景终于结构。这个夏天工作室的结构骨架刚刚完成时留下了这么一段笔记：“想想就那么一团空气，也许牵连着已知的未知的、有形的无形的物质，就那么被一个壳子包裹了一下，形成一股幽暗与光明，紧迫或舒展，却又兀自不语。房子的这一刻，那种废墟感，是远离世俗的，仿佛遗世孤立，这一刻转瞬即逝。而后，我知道它便要向世俗去了……”写这段话时建筑师脑中同时也回忆起龙美术馆脚手架刚刚拆除的那一刻，它将证明一点，尽管最终的结构可能让位于风景，让位于世俗的事务，但这内在的结构，恰恰也正是建筑得以存在的证明，它在时间的长河中具有恒久的价值。

But for an architect, the process reflects his thoughts. In this project, the interior structure and the external landscape, whether it starts with the structure and ends with the landscape or, on the contrary, starts with the landscape and ends with the structure, are integrated into each other. A note was left right after the framework was completed: “Think about the emptiness, implicating the known and unknown, tangible and intangible. It was warped by a shell and transform into a space. At this moment the architecture, like a ruin, is isolated. It is a fleeting moment and the architecture become worldly instantly.” It also recalls the memory of the architect, the moment when the scaffold of Long Museum is dismantled. The structure, even thought it may eventually be concealed by the landscape and the mundane daily life, is the evidence of the existing of the architecture, become an eternity over time.
