Residential retail is becoming more and more the goal in the luxury market. For this exclusive retailer, we decided that the shopping experience would be the same as being hosted at someone's home. This is what drove our design, for this we included a bar, a private lounge, a dedicated living room from bridal and gave each of these moments its own ambiance. Everything here was designed to be soothing. The restraint imposed by the materials ensures both consistency and the ability to allow the client's brain to relax and focus on what’s most important: the product.
Our interior concept is conceived as a muted home with only the softest materials, smooth plasters and rich detailing in all custom made furniture that ties the space together. The minimal palette includes burled wood, bronze hardware, Whitewood & Nero Marquina marble, along with a hushed-white Moroccan plaster.
In this way, we really wanted to respect and elevate the essence of the materials to allow them to radiate their natural properties and textures while also serving the functional purposes of the architectural program. Simple is not always easy – our blending of materials was a patient process that necessitated concentrated collaboration and decision-making between us and the client.
We designed for this location every furniture piece shown, having them to be as one of a kind as the jewelry and timepieces that are sold. Lucia Galeano, principal of Studio Galeon, is passionate about furniture design and for this location, she created all one of a kind pieces. Sofas in burled wood and lustrous velvet, coffee tables with sunken Nero Marquina, and a stainless steel sofa base for the perfect shoe selfie. In addition to the exclusive furniture, every item for the setting and styling of the store is one of a kind for this location. The few moments of high pitch colors come from this selected roster of objects. For all of these crafted pieces, leaving the interior simple and serene was the way to go. When it comes to entertaining, no one wants to be too loud.
Mix hospitality and retail, have the space be flexible enough to have clients feel at home and at the same time be able to throw parties and host private events.
