TEF Design had designed the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center located in Palo Alto, California.
Adjacent to TEF’s Hoover Pavilion renovation, this new outpatient center completes the development of the Hoover Medical Campus, a key component of Stanford Health Care’s landmark renewal program to rebuild and modernize the facilities that are the foundation of its healthcare services.
The 5-story, 92,000 sf facility is a first-of-its-kind comprehensive care destination that brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, and other care providers from 21 neuroscience subspecialties to work side-by-side, enabling rapid sharing of team expertise and information. Its design merges a physically and emotionally supportive care environment with state-of-the-art technology including the only comprehensive autonomic laboratory on the West Coast with a thermoregulatory sweat lab and one of the first PET/MRI machines in North America designated for clinical use. Through engagement with a 12member Patient and Family Advisory Council, feedback from those living with neurological diseases, as well as physicians, and care team members, was integrated into virtually every detail of design – from flooring to lighting resulting in a bespoke, streamlined place of healing that will lead to more accurate diagnoses, organized care, better quality of life and improved outcomes for patients.
