O B L I Q U Eat the Maboneng PrecinctCONCEPT / DECONSTRUCTED RIBBONThe concept is derived from the strong Architectural style of DECONSTRUCTIVISM. Inspiration for the design is drawn from the contrasting and rather whimsical, free-flowing shape of a ribbon.The RIBBON is the main contributor to the concept, as it symbolizes the deeper connection between the different walks of life within this community. A ribbon in its essence symbolizes freedom through its movement. This showcases the absolute freedom in which the community represents themselves and their passions in their everyday lives.With a drive to be different and stand out from the crowd, this design ties in with the area and the people living and interacting in it.The end-result of this design is to ultimately achieve a space that is ARTISTRY OVER ARCHITECTURE.
