The transition from a large family house to an inner city townhouse was made effortless and pain free by designing a house that functions efficiently for a modern adult family. Situated along a boulevard of plane trees – the townhouse seems to float amongst the trees, providing a tranquil retreat from inner city life.
Janne Faulkner’s influence over a number of years can be seen in the client’s collection of contemporary Australian art, which in turn has influenced our interior design. The interior design allows for a seamless flow from one living space to another, enabling our clients to entertain with ease. The Eileen Dining Table by B&B Italia allows 10 people to sit comfortably whilst the Artemide Talo Pendant Light floats above the table. The Vitra Softshell Dining Chairs allow diners to linger at the table in comfort enjoying the client’s passion for great food.
The Winter Garden is where the clients relax after a busy day enjoying the views and the magnificent Plane trees outside. The B&B Italia Lazy Chairs were selected for their informality and comfort whilst the upholstery fabric colour complements the colour of the trees in springtime. The B&B Italia Eileen Console Table offers simplicity and elegance, whilst the B&B Italia Fat Fat Lady Fat Ottoman retains the relaxed nature of the room. The Frank Side Tables by B&B used throughout were chosen for their colour and practicality.
The Living Room joinery was designed to add a splash of intense colour and a sense of sophistication to the space which in turn inspired the fabrics used in the furniture. The Main Bedroom is both timeless and tranquil with the use of the Dado Night Tables and a Dado Chest of Drawers by B&B Italia, classic bedlinen from Plane Tree Farm completes the effect resulting in a truly sophisticated retreat. The Entrance with its Maxalto Pathos Console Table and the Oluce Atollo Light together with the Noel McKenna lithograph reflected in the Double Mirror by Gordon Mather hints at what is to come.
