凿户牖以为室,当其无,有室之用。”构成空间固然只是六个面,但真正让空间“有室之用”的,正是六个面围合而成的“无”。作为入口空间,更是被赋予特别的仪式感,因为这里的场所精神,代表着进入时对于建筑内空间的期许与遐想。

When I start to meditate on the spirit of this place, varies kinds of images will come to my mind. Some of the images are what I saw in my childhood or in my life journeys, and some are my thoughts when I appreciate the long rolls of mountains and rivers... If we sum up Chinese ink-splashing landscape painting to a minimalist, it is the structure of horizontal and vertical lines. Horizontal represents the water and vertical represents the mountains. Mountains are tough and rough, waters are mild and soft, together, Yin and Yang are in harmony. And Yin and Yang, and deduce the "heaven and earth" way, is infinite.
