Chen Chen & Kai Williams is a New York based design studio working in furniture, products and materials. It was founded in 2011 by Pratt Institute graduates Chen Chen and Kai Williams. Recently, they designed a shop which is located in New York– the bright and spectacular Pop-ups Shop.
The design of the shop has 2 major elements. One is the wall panel system that has an offset grid which allows for shelves and clothing racks to be hung anywhere on the wall and also has graphic elements from the Etudes collection engraved into the surface. Two is the Rhino collection which includes the table and bench and also the shelves on the wall. These pieces are made with aluminum legs/brackets and the surfaces are covered in Rhino Liner which is a finish designed to protect trucks. These pieces were designed to be indestructible. The table and bench can also be used as outdoor furniture.

Chen Chen & Kai Williams is a New York based design studio working in furniture, products and materials. It was founded in 2011 by Pratt Institute graduates Chen Chen and Kai Williams. Their work has shown at Moss, Phillips de Pury, The Future Perfect, Matter, Elemental, Inventory Objects, Collectivo Amor de Madre, and in the Wunderkammer pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
